Joel Hasen

Joel Hasen, counsel to Donna E. Bennick, P.C., graduated from Cornell University (AB, 1956), Columbia Law School (LLB, 1959) and New York University Law School (Masters in Tax Law, 1967).

During Mr. Hasen's long and varied New York City legal career, he dealt primarily with commercial matters, initially involving securities law (i.e, mergers, acquisitions, and public offerings).  In addition, he has represented leasing companies and lenders in transactions involving computers, communications equipment and commercial aircraft, all such transactions involving significant tax issues.  Although not a tax lawyer per se, Mr. Hasen's education and experience enable him to bring an added dimension to the tax consequences involved in family law matters.

Mr. Hasen's role as counsel is to review the financial aspects of the firm's matters and advise clients as to the viability, from both tax and financial viewpoints, of proposed solutions to the specific problems involved.
